Track Session Reminder

Attention all budding Track Cyclists!

Don’t forget Saturday 13th February is the Ashfield Road Club track session.
The track has been booked solely for our use between 7pm and 9pm and we have also paid for a coach to ensure we get the tuition we need and to help things run smoothly.

Because this is a private booking we don’t need to be accredited riders to attend, however this does limit the amount of riders allowed on the track at any one time to 16, so we will have to run a couple of groups.
This session is free to Ashfield RC members and £20 to non members, However cycle and shoe hire incur additional charges, the bikes are £12:20 for the session and are fitted with Look Keo pedals if you don’t have Look Keo cleats then Shoe hire will be an additional £ 5:60.

Other points to note are that helmets and track mitts are compulsory. They also recommend long sleeve jerseys are worn (however a lot don’t bother).

It’s also important to take plenty to drink and snacks if required, it does get warm during the sessions and you can get dehydrated quickly.

They usually recommend that you arrive 1/2 hour before the sessions start, especially if you need shoe and cycle hire, because there’s quite a few of us I’d like to propose we meet in the main Derby Arena reception at 6:15pm, The address of the arena is Derby Arena, Royal Way, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8JB

Friends, family and loved ones are also more than welcome to come along and spectate, support, laugh at and film you at no extra cost!

I think those who have club kit should try and wear it and use this session to promote Ashfield RC in a positive way.

The Derby Arena website can be found here – it’s worth having a look as there is a lot of useful information on there.

Most important of all is that we all have a safe, fun session and come away smiling, and hopefully a post ride debrief in a local pub!
