Ride & Event Updates

Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross

An extra special well done to Richard Bellamy, Mandie James and Ian Drake who took part in the Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross last Sunday. Ian finished in a very respectable 275th; whilst Mandie whizzed round to come 514th overall.

Poor Rich lost his rear mech on the first decent and despite a valiant 2 mile cross moorland run, had to retire shortly after. Bad luck Rich, but there’s always next year!

SRAM Notts & Derby Cyclo-Cross League (NDCXL)

Ashfield’s Cyclo-Crossers were also in action on Saturday at Round Three of the SRAM NDCXL at Markeaton Park. Leading the charge in the Senior category; Lewis finished 13th overall (12th in category)In the Veterans category, Rob put in a strong performance to finish 59th overall (40th in category).

NEC Cycle Show Cyclo Cross

Not content with his 13th place finish in the NDCXL, Lewis made the trip down to Birmingham’s NEC to take part in the Cycle Show’s Cyclo-Cross race. The National Trophy event saw a strong field; however Lewis put in a solid performance to secure 24th place.

Club Rides

This Sunday saw A and B group rides leave the Badger as usual; with both groups opting for different hillier routes around Derbyshire. The sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures ensured the refreshing café stops were especially appreciated.

Strava Club

Last week saw the return of Phil “The Power” Heath to his regular routes around Southwell and as a result he nets the top spot for overall distance at 218 miles. Ian “Fegs” Fairy takes the longest individual ride distance with 65.3 miles, and yours truly takes the top spot in the climbing category with 13,917ft.
